Strike Team Training Event and Social Gathering

When: Saturday, August 10, 2024

10:00am to Noon

(with lunch and social gathering afterwards)

Where: Meet at Beverly C. Wilson Hall, Fairgrounds

What: Join the team for a two-hour training and social event so that we may refresh on Strike Team disaster response (including responder mental health, our PPSC Strike Team activation process, scenarios in which we may activate, and some practical hands-on training).

We are looking for “strike team” volunteers. These volunteers will be the first volunteers we call in the event of a disaster and will staff the shelters for the first 24 hours of an event. To be in this role we ask that you truly are flexible on timing (ie you can be called at 2am to immediately serve as a volunteer) and you attend our PPSC Strike Team Volunteer training at the Petaluma Fairgrounds on August 10th from 10am-12pm.  

Additionally, we would like to be prepared with a list of volunteers that can help staff evacuation centers if there is a need. If you don’t fit in the "strike team" volunteers and want to volunteer, please still fill out the form. As we know from past events, we need many, many volunteers to support the shelters of Petaluma. (Please fill out the form, even if you have volunteered in past years).
