Fair Housing
PPSC Fair Housing aims at promoting equal access to housing opportunities and preventing discrimination in housing practices. These services are designed to ensure that all individuals have the right to seek housing without being subjected to discriminatory practices based on factors such as race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin.
Our Fair Housing Specialist can:
Provide information and resources to the public about fair housing laws, rights, and responsibilities.
Offer counseling and support services to individuals who believe they have experienced housing discrimination.
Investigate complaints of housing discrimination and taking appropriate action to address violations of fair housing laws.
Whether you're seeking assistance, have questions about your rights, or believe you've experienced housing discrimination, we're here to help. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us for support and guidance.
Our Fair Housing Specialist specializes in Petaluma housing regulations. However, we maintain partnerships with various agencies and organizations across different locations to ensure tenants receive comprehensive assistance tailored to their specific needs.
Important Update for Tenants:
Governor Newsom has signed AB 2347, a new law that will take effect on January 1, 2025. This law changes how much time tenants have to respond to an eviction notice (known as an Unlawful Detainer, or UD).
Starting in 2025, tenants will have 10 days instead of the previous 5 days to respond to a UD summons. This gives tenants more time to address the situation.
If you have any questions about this law or how it may affect you, please feel free to reach out. Read AB 2347 Here
