Join PPSC’s Counseling Clinic!

We are seeking practicum students, associates, licensed clinicians, and pre and post-doctoral students to join our team with the Counseling Clinic at Petaluma People Services Center (PPSC). At PPSC, you’ll have the opportunity to work with diverse clients, partake in individual and group supervision, and be in a supportive environment in which to grow. We’re a team-based learning community that supports each of our members in discovering the clinical approach that resonates most deeply with them.

Therapy at the PPSC Counseling Clinic is guided by an attachment and trauma-informed foundation with psychodynamic, somatic, and mindful-based approaches. Our clinical supervisors have over 50 years of combined experience in the field and include a Psychologist, an LCSW, and an LMFT. Therapists are provided with a minimum of 1 hour of individual supervision per week and 2 hours of group supervision per week. Outside of supervision, we have on-going groups focused on couples therapy, EMDR therapy, and peer-based consultation groups.

Therapists receive training twice a month to support skill development and the overall process of becoming a therapist; training is tailored to address relevant needs of the team. In the past clinical topics have included sand tray therapy, attachment system, cultural diversity, working with older adults, working with the LGBTQIA+ population, motivational interviewing, PTSD, complex trauma, grief and loss, Hakomi, play therapy, problematic attachment, stress cycle, techniques for grounding, and defense mechanisms.

All positions are paid. Full time and part time positions (minimum 20 hours/week) available. Trainings and Team Meetings take place every Wednesday 9am-11am. Group Supervision takes place Tuesdays 9am-11am or Thursdays 9am-11am. Should you have any additional questions, please reach out to jobs@petalumapeople.org or 707-765-8488 ext 400. We look forward to hearing from you!
