Steady Steps
Balance & Fall Prevention
Falls are not a normal part of aging but they are common, serious, and often preventable.
Each year millions of older adults experience a fall. In fact, one in three adults age 65 and older falls annually, yet fewer than half report these falls to their doctor. Why does that matter? Because one fall doubles the risk of falling again, increasing the likelihood of injury, loss of independence, and reduced quality of life.
According to the CDC and other falls research:
More than 1 out of 4 Americans age 65+ falls each year.
Falls are the leading cause of both fatal and nonfatal injuries among older adults.
The cost of fall-related injuries is projected to exceed $101 billion by 2030.
A Proven Path to Strength, Balance, and Confidence
PPSC offers Steady Steps Balance and Fall Prevention classes rooted in the education designed by the FallProof™ Balance and Mobility Program. Developed by Dr. Debra J. Rose from California State University, Fullerton, this award-winning, evidence based program uses proven techniques to support individuals at moderate-to-high risk for falls. The intention is to empower older adults to improve balance, increase strength, and reduce the risk of falling.
Our classes focus on building physical stability, body awareness, and confidence - helping participants stay active, independent, and safe in their daily lives.
