Petaluma People Services Center has launched a pilot program, Specialized Assistance for Everyone (SAFE) in collaboration with the City of Petaluma, City of Rohnert Park, and City of Cotati.  SAFE is a 24-hour, 365 day a year program dealing with a wide range of mental health-related crises, including conflict resolution, welfare checks, substance abuse, suicide threats, and more, relying on trauma-informed de-escalation and harm reduction techniques.  The SAFE Team’s provision of community-based crisis intervention includes services for juvenile and adult populations experiencing mental health, homelessness, and/or substance abuse crises in mobile evaluation teams.

The SAFE Team Coordinator directly supports the SAFE Program Manager in the logistics of the team operations, including but not limited to: Managing inventory of equipment and uniforms, scheduling of van maintenance, assisting the SAFE Navigator, and providing back-up scheduling for SAFE Team shifts. This position will require 20 hours a week on internal tasks, and 20 hours as a SAFE Team member, responding to Crisis Intervention calls.
