1,000 Petaluma Bowls

Once again this year, Petaluma People Services Center is inviting the community to participate in our 1,000 Petaluma Bowls event which helps PPSC provide programs to our community that help to provide access to food, these programs include our Meals On Wheels and Petaluma Bounty.

Community members can participate by hosting a Bowl Painting Party at their home or business. This year we are partnering with Family Tree Pottery to help create the bowls that will be auctioned off in November. PPSC hopes to have 1,000 handmade pottery bowls for this year’s event and is asking the community to paint and donate pottery bowls for the event.

Business can participate in many ways to support this project. They can host a bowl painting party, many businesses use it as team building project; they can donate directly to the project, attend the event in November where there will be great bowl of soup and an opportunity to bid on the Petaluma Bowls created by our community. This is a fun way to share time with each other while helping PPSC fill the empty bowls of so many less fortunate people who are hungry in Petaluma.

Last year’s event was a tremendous success – instead of hitting the big box stores and shopping malls on the day after Thanksgiving, hundreds of people came to the 1,000 Petaluma Bowls. This year the event will be at Hotel Petaluma on November 24th from 11:00 am – 3:00pm, there is a $20.00 event fee that includes soup, hors d’oeuvres and beverages and an opportunity to buy one-of-a-kind pottery created by the community and other fine art created by some of the best Northern California clay and glass artists. To pre-buy you tickets email 1,000PetalumaBowls@PetalumaPeople.org.
