SHARE Sonoma County, in partnership with Petaluma People Services Center,
is offering a Home-Sharing Program for those 60 years and older. SHARE helps facilitate safe homeshares for homeowners and renters who are currently stressed financially, experiencing life transitions, looking for companionship, or needing basic assistance (service in exchange) in order to remain housed and age-financial burdens, providing companionship, security for anyone afraid to be home alone, remain home and age-in-place for those who need basic assistance. Home-Sharing is a living arrangement of two or more unrelated people who share a home or apartment for their mutual benefit. Each person has their own bedroom and possibly bathroom, but shares common living areas.
Home-Sharing benefits include:
- ease of financial burdens
- providing companionship
- security for anyone afraid to be home alone
- remain home and age-in-place for those who need basic assistance
SHARE is now accepting applications to help people identify, screen and thrive with housing partners.
