The Sonoma County Youth Ecology Corps provides youth and young adults with meaningful, paid work experience, environmental education, and the opportunity to explore careers and develop work-readiness skills.  SCYEC_logo_redesign_2013_FinalYouth contribute to their community while completing environmental and conservation-related projects or by working with local non-profit organizations.  You can see the crews in Petaluma at work at our Petaluma Bounty Farm.

PPSC’s Youth Link Young Adult Services assists At-Risk Teens in taking their first steps to find a good entry level job and make some decisions about careers or job training. Special consideration is give to youth 16-24 who are not in school and not working. Finding a good job or career is an important step toward becoming independent. Many of your goals, such as getting a car, getting your own place, traveling, or getting a job. can be overwhelming. PPSC’s YouthLink Young Adult Services can assist you to take the first steps, find a good entry level job, and make some decisions about careers or job training. YouthLink serves residents of Sonoma County with child therapy, parent education and family advocacy. It encompasses shelter visits for homeless families and school site services in addition to counseling at our community site.

The Sonoma County’s Youth Ecology Corps (SCYEC) is the recipient of the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) 2014 Challenge Award. Challenge awards recognize the innovative and creative spirit of California county governments.  We are proud of our partners all over the county who help provide this opportunity  for the youth of Petaluma and Sonoma County.  View this video made as part of the Challenge Award.
